Rostering Default View Mode

Updated over 3 months ago

Rostering in Definitiv features a way to allow customers to define a default rostering mode, which determines how the roster calendar view is displayed when opening a roster.

Rostering Modes

The rostering modes available to choose from are:

  • Employee then Role: Displays the Roster by Employee in the first column and shifts by Role. This is the Default mode a roster is displayed in.

  • Role then Employee: Displays the Roster by Role in the first column and then shifts assigned to Employees

The difference between each mode

The main differences between each mode are described below. The Default mode is applied when viewing a roster in Day, Week, Fortnight, Month, or Custom calendar periods.

Employee then Role Mode

When a roster is configured with a rostering mode of ‘Role then Employee’, Employees are shown in the first column, and each shift is labelled with the Role assigned to the shift.

Role then Employee Mode

When a roster is configured with a rostering mode of ‘Role then Employee’, roles are shown in the first column, and each shift is labelled with the name of the employee to whom the shift has been assigned.

Switching Between Modes

To switch between the different modes while viewing a Roster, but not change the default rostering mode, click the Header Cell above the first employee to switch between both Rostering Modes.
