Rostering [NEW] has been enhanced from the version 3.8 release to include the Public Holiday Worked by Default feature, similar to how it is used in Work Schedules. This utilises the Employee Location costing in order to resolve Public Holidays from the Public Holiday configuration in Definitiv and shows Public Holidays per day and per shift.
Public Holiday Configuration
The Public Holiday Worked feature in rostering uses the rostered shifts costed location to resolve if a valid Public Holiday is available. No changes are required to the Public Holiday Configuration.
Note: Sub-Locations of a Location that is configured for a Public Holiday will inherit the Public Holiday of the Parent Location.
Example: A Public Holiday is configured for the Location: Australia. An employee's rostered shift is costed to Western Australia, which is a sub-location of Australia. The Rostered shift will inherit the Public Holiday from Australia.

Roster Options
The Public Holiday Worked setting (On or Off) can be defined at the Roster Level. When a new shift or vacancy is added to a roster, it will have the same settings as the Roster Options.
Rostering Calendar UI
Rostering Calendar Header
In Rostering, the calendar header showing each date in the Roster Period will now display the date with a Teal Background. The small icon after the date can be hovered over to see all the Public Holidays configured for the date.
Rostered Shift
When a rostered shift is added to the roster period, and the Location Costing resolves to a public holiday, the shift will be in the Calendar with a Teal Background when the Roster is Published. Hovering over the calendar icon in the shift will show the public holiday that has been resolved from the Location Costing of the shift.
When a rostered shift does not resolve to a public holiday based on the shift’s location costing, it will be shown as a regular shift – Yellow for Draft, Orange for Warnings/Issues, and Green for Published.
Refer to the Rostering Legend for clarification.
Important Note: As the Public Holiday Worked feature relies on the location costing of the roster entry, when an employee does not have any location assignments, a banner will be shown to the user in the roster shift drawer stating the employee does not have any location assignments, and to update the employee before publishing the roster. The Roster can still be published, as this is only a Warning.
Importing
Importing Work Schedules
When importing employee Work Schedules into Rostering, the imported Work Schedule entries will always use the Public Holiday Work setting from the employee’s work schedule and will ignore the Roster Options.
Importing Templates
When importing a roster template, all imported roster entries will use the Roster Options settings to define the Public Holiday Worked setting for each imported roster entry.
Importing from the Previous Period
When importing shifts from the previous Roster period, all shifts imported will retain the Public Holiday worked setting from the previous period.
Reporting Updates
The following Reports, if they are available to you based on your permissions, have been updated to include a new column called Public Holiday Worked.
Rostering Reporting, Rostering
Time & Attendance Reporting, Time & Attendance
Time & Attendance Reporting, Timesheets
When viewing the column in the above reports, you will see the following Terms
Non-Public Holiday - Rostered shift was not on a Public Holiday
Yes - Rostered Shift/Timesheet was on a public holiday, and the Public Holiday Worked setting was Yes
No - Rostered Shift/Timesheet was on a public holiday, and the Public Holiday Worked setting was No
Rostering Workbook
The Rostering Workbook Template has been updated to include a new Public Holiday Worked column, which can be set to True (Yes) or False (No) for a roster entry with the Add or Update action.
Validation is in place when importing the Rostering Workbook to ensure that when a roster entry has the Public Holiday Worked column set to either True or False, the employee's location costing resolves to a Public Holiday. If it does not, then an error will be shown and the import will be aborted.
