Structure flow

Updated over 2 months ago

Structure flow can be made up of the following parts.

  • Projects

  • Tasks

  • Roles

  • Locations

  • Departments

  • Organisation Chart

For detailed information on each structure flow, read the Definitiv Structure Flow

Projects

Projects form one of the primary costing requirements within Definitiv. In the Projects tab you can drill down to multiple levels of costing. Projects also maintains its own level of permissions that can be managed through User Roles.

Tasks

Tasks can be used to drive a payment or an accrual within Definitiv. These can be used on either specific Projects only or used by all employees within the database. Tasks also allow for a GL Code to capture costing and can be reported on throughout Definitiv.

Roles

Roles are extremely important as they form one of the primary costing requirements within Definitiv. An employee must have at least one primary role.

Locations

Locations form another one of the primary costing requirements within Definitiv. The Locations within Definitiv can also be used to depict a level of costing information.

Departments

Departments form the final primary costing requirement within Definitiv. Departments singular function is to provide another level of costing within Definitiv.

Organisation Chart

Although the Organisation Chart does not form part of the Structure, it is an important aspect within the implementation. The permissions in Definitiv can only be set up from a Global, Project Manager, Project Clerk, Line Manager (derived from the Org Chart) or Self perspective. Dependent on how the Organisation Chart is set up, this may influence what needs to be set up in the Projects to achieve your structural requirements.
