If an employee has paid off their HECS Loan debt and has submitted a Withholding Declaration to update you, you will need to follow the steps below to update this information in the system.
Navigate to the Employee's Profile, Tax Information, and Assign Tax Information.
You will then enter the relevant date and update the answer for Do you have a Higher Educations Loan Program (HELP) or Trade Support (TSL) Loan.
You will also need to select Yes for Signature Present and click Save.
Once completed, the PAYG will then be calculated at the new rate within the next pay run.
You will also need to keep a copy of the Withholding Declaration Form in case the ATO asks you for proof in the future.
