Public Holidays not paying correctly

Payment was incorrect for a public holiday.

When a public holiday is not paid correctly, there are several checks that can be carried out to help identify the cause and determine why the payment was not processed as expected.

  1. Public holidays are driven by location.

    • Have you checked if the work schedule is allocated to a different location?

    • Has the public holiday got the correct location allocated to it?

  2. Does the employee have a scheduled worksheet?

    • If the employee already has a work schedule, adding a timesheet will override it.

    • If the employee has submitted a timesheet on top of a work schedule for fewer hours, it may be necessary to submit a second timesheet to make up the additional hours.

      • For example: An employee was to receive 7.5hrs for a public holiday not worked, but they worked 3hrs on the public holiday; a second timesheet will need to be added for 4.5hrs not worked on a public holiday.

Note: Adding a manual timesheet will always override a work schedule.

  3. Has the employee's working status changed?

    • If an employee is terminated during a scheduled worksheet period that includes a public holiday, it is important to recalculate the worksheet after entering the termination date. This ensures the employee is not incorrectly paid for the public holiday following their termination.
