From Definitiv version 3.10 release, we have introduced Shift Offers to Rostering [NEW] module. Shift Offers is a feature that shift managers can use to offer out vacant shifts in the roster to employees. Eligible employees receive push/email notifications about available shifts, enabling them to view and claim shifts directly from the Definitiv Mobile App.
How to Claim a Shift
Shifts that have been offered to an employee will be notified to that employee via email and push notification.
Step 1. Select on the Push Notification to take you straight there
or open the Definitiv App, then Pending Actions from the Menu, then Rosters, then tap on the Shift Offers Tab.
Step 2. View Shifts open for Claiming
Shifts that can be claimed will be displayed with Claim to the right of them. If you need to check more details of the shift, tap on the shift information (not the claim button) to open the Details Page. You can claim from the details page or the main shift offers page.

If you wish to claim a shift that is open for claiming. Tap on the Claim Button.
Step 3. Confirm your Claim
Check the details again of the shift you are accepting.
Tap Confirm to finalise the claim or Cancel to exit out of the claim process.
Requests are processed on a first-in-first-served basis so provided someone has not claimed just ahead of you, the shift will become yours and the status of the shift will update to Claimed.
Step 4. The Work Schedule will be updated
The Work Schedule area on the Dashboard will be updated with any shifts you claim and you will be expected to work them.
Note: The Roster in the Web Browser will also be updated and a push notification/email sent to the last roster publisher confirming the shift claim and who claimed the shift.
Step 5. (optional) View the history of shift offers at any time
You can view a history of shifts that have been offered (as long as shifts were not deleted) at any time by navigating to the Shift Offer Area.
