If you have completed and processed your Super Batch and it returns with a warning related to ESA The ESA service provider has advised that the ABN for this self managed super fund is unknown to them. Please obtain the correct ESA from the employee, as per the screenshot below:
This means the ABN of this Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) is not known to the ESA provider. You will need to contact the employee to verify if the correct ESA has been provided.
β
ESA is an electronic service address that is a requirement for an SMSF, and this warning is indicating the employee needs to confirm whether this is currently still valid/registered for their SMSF.
β
Once the correct ESA has been provided, you can then directly update this via the employee record in superannuation to correct the warning when you are next processing the super batch.
Note: This is a warning and does not impact the actual super payment being remitted/deposited/processed to the relevant Self-Managed Super Fund account. The message only relates to the contribution data for SMSF and not payments.
