There are two types of Leave Policies:
Fixed percentage
Entitlement period
The type of policy can be reviewed within the setup of the leave policy in Admin, Policies, Leave Policies.

Fixed rate
The Percentage Rate is the rate at which an employee will accrue leave.
The Applicable Pay Items contain all the pay items when paid to an employee they will accrue leave based on the rate specified.

Entitlement period
An Entitlement Period can be created with the option to add a custom time duration
A rate can be specified for the setup custom Entitlement Period
The Applicable Pay Items contain all the pay items when paid to an employee, they will accrue leave based on the rate specified.
